Amanusa

Amanusa has been designed with a passionate eye, in order to maintain the ethos of Bali’s strong spiritual roots and physical beauty, encouraging guests to unwind in peace, in a soothing setting, with suites that have appointed the 21st century with acute subtlety.

Entrance to Hall - Amanusa

Amanusa (which means “peaceful isle” and opened in 1992) enjoys a commanding position on a garden hillside in southern Bali just above the Bali Golf and Country Club. Views run from the adjacent Indian Ocean shoreline to sacred Mount Agung that dominates the far horizon on a clear day.

Only 15 minutes drive from Denpasar, Bali’s international airport, the process of relaxation begins swiftly, while the welcoming Amanusa staff take cares of the ‘seams of time’. Nearby, the bougainvillea-lined streets of Nusa Dua are dotted with boutiques and memorable restaurants and inspiriting cultural pursuits are only a bike, walk, or chauffeur-driven-minutes from the resort.

As an aid to total convalescence, resident masseuses are on hand, offering Balinese treatments within the comfort and privacy of the guests’ spacious suites.

A smooth manicured golf course, one of the most revered in Asia, separates the resort from the enticing ocean.

Amanusa has 35 thatched-roof suites linked by paved walkways and set behind foliage and mossy paras stone walls for added privacy.

Room Types:
Garden Suites: All suites have four-poster beds and round tables for private dining, a sunken indoor bath, outdoor shower, a garden courtyard and a terrace with a spacious canopied day bed.

Deluxe Suites: These suites are identical to Garden Suites with extensive views of the golf course or the Ocean.

Pool Suites: Eight suites have private swimming pools and a spacious terrace.

Amanusa Suite: The Amanusa Suite enjoys a private swimming pool and the most privileged views of the Ocean.

Bars and Restaurants:
The Terrace offers sweeping views of Bali, embracing the golf course, the Indian Ocean, Nusa Dua and the Bukit, which is Bali’s southern peninsula. During the day it is open for breakfast and lunch, serving a variety of Asian and Continental dishes, while in the evenings it offers a range of Indonesian and Thai dishes. Just below, the Restaurant specialises in Mediterranean cuisine, which is served in an elegant room with high ceilings or in the outdoor courtyard surrounded by flowering frangipani trees which overlook the pool.

Other Facilities and Services:
The Beach Club: This is located on the beachfront of the Bali Golf and Country Club. The Club consists of ten bales, each with two sun loungers. Refreshments, light meals, showers and washrooms are provided. The sand beach is one of Bali's best and is fringed by a coral reef. Snorkelling equipment and kayaks are available. The Beach Club is also the setting for candlelit barbecues, and sunrise breakfasts can be enjoyed in the privacy of the bales.

Swimming Pool: The large 24m blue pool is bordered by a bougainvillea-covered trellis, flowering frangipani trees and a high paras-stone wall.

Library: The library specialises in books on Indonesian art and culture and also offers an extensive CD and VCD selection. A laptop computer is available for e-mail and Internet access.

Boutique and Gallery: Balinese and Indonesian craft and antiques as well as other gift items are available.

Tennis: Amanusa's two, all-weather tennis courts are floodlit for evening play. Attendants are available as playing partners or ball boys. A bale is located between the courts for shady breaks of iced chrysanthemum tea and refreshments.

Massage and Beauty Treatments: Amanusa's resident masseuses mix traditional Balinese massage with Swedish massage and acupressure. Massage is available in the privacy of your suite, in the specially-designated massage suite, on one of the Beach Club bales. Body treatments as well as facials, pedicures and manicures are also available. Amanusa's reiki master is on hand to redress any energy imbalances and a reflexologist is available once a week.

Meetings and Special Events: The resort has meeting facilities for up to 30 people and is a special venue for occasions like weddings, birthdays and family reunions. Amanusa's boardroom is two rooms in one: a conference facility for informal meetings and a reception area for coffee breaks and cocktails. Facilities include direct lines for fax and telephone, a video and laser-disc system, satellite TV and a computer link to the projector and the big screen. For guests wanting a deeper insight into Balinese life and culture, Amanusa will arrange seminars or presentations.

Sporting Events: Amanusa arranges corporate tennis or golf tournaments.
